What are Little Medical School Virtual Summer Camps?
Summer 2020 may be different but can be meaningful and memorable! Little Medical School Summer Camps will now be Virtual Summer Camps in 2020! Our summer camps include our most popular courses where students will explore the exciting field of medicine from home using a safe and secure video conferencing technology and premium LMS educational materials delivered contactless to your address prior to the start of the camp. Since this is virtual, imagine the possibilities for your family! We had students on our online classes who are learning even while on a camping trip. Students will have fun and engaging medical learning experience and STEM education this summer!

How different is a LMS Virtual Summer Camp versus others?

This is not an ordinary virtual summer camp!

  • Each LMS student will receive a premium LMS educational hands-on materials “Doctor’s Kit” delivered contactless to your address which will be used during the online program and for keeping. It means parents don’t have to rush, find and buy materials in order for their kids to join the activities. Did we say FREE shipping if within Calgary and only +$15 for other locations?
  • Our virtual summer camps will be 45 minutes daily from Monday to Friday. This is still within the recommended screen time guidelines for children 5 and above per Alberta Health which is 2 hours per day.
  • Students will also be instructed to complete an offline/homework “at home” activities after each live virtual session to help them get engaged with the topics even after the live session ends.
  • Students may be asked to present their “at home” homework on the next session for class interaction.
  • Registration spots per program will be limited to 12 to ensure an engaging online atmosphere for students.

Are registrations limited?

Our virtual camps will run for only two weeks in July and two weeks in August 2020. Registration spots per program will be limited to 12 to ensure an engaging online atmosphere for students.

Is registration open to all?

Our Little Medical School – Calgary Virtual Summer Camps are only open to Canadian residents (except Ottawa and Waterloo- where there are LMS franchisees as well). Not available for US residents and other countries. Please direct your questions to calgary@littlemedicalschool.com.

Parents

What is the cost of each six week session?

Where are the Birthday Parties held?

The great thing about this is YOU get to decide where to have your party! The possibilities are virtually endless! We will come to a location of your choice to lead a fun-filled, unique and educational program for your child’s birthday. Previous locations have included — country clubs, recreational centers, neighborhood clubhouses, churches, homes, etc.

How do I know if you are offering classes at my child’s school?

You will see the location when you register your child for the class. Camps, badge classes and custom classes will be held at various locations which will be shown on the registration page.  Don’t see it??  Just let us know who to speak with at your child’s school and we’ll make it happen!!

Do you divide the classes by age?

We follow the Mixed-Aged Grouping teaching philosophy.  Mixed-Aged Grouping allows the teacher to focus on teaching each child according to his or her own strengths, unlike in same-grade classrooms that often expect all children to learn at the same pace.  The spirit of cooperation and caring in this environment makes it possible for children to help each other as individuals, not see each other as competitors and often allows the older children to have the opportunity to serve as mentors and to take leadership roles.

What courses are best suited for Pre K students?

We have specific courses, Little Medical School 1 PREK and we have Little Veterinary School for PREK, that are both focused on lessons and techniques for 4-5 year old students.

Do any of the courses require a prerequisite?

No! Any course can be attended at any time.

Are any public classes available?
