HOMESCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR KIDS IN CHICAGO
Little Medical School Chicago West is proud to offer a truly unique option for expanding your homeschool curriculum. We work closely with homeschool families and parent groups to devise custom lesson plans covering a wide range of medical disciplines: general physicians, sports medicine, nursing, veterinary, and pharmacy.
- Understanding the tools that doctors use
- The human body and organ systems
- Nutrition and the science of eating
- Applying basic first aid and treating common sports injuries
- What pharmacists do and why medicine works
- Performing CPR and the Heimlich maneuver*
- Caring for pets and what to do in case of animal injuries
- Much, much more!
And the best part is, we come to you! You provide the space – even a private residence – and we'll provide all of the class materials. All of our after school programs are taught by exemplary instructors who have passed a rigorous background check and have experience with children. We'll capture your child's imagination with our interactive activities. They’ll role play, work with models, develop skills, draw, think creatively, … and most importantly, they’ll learn!
*Our program does not offer CPR certification
Program Details
Location: Programs are hosted at the venue of your choice – we come to you!
Duration: Most programs include 6 hours of instruction, in the following formats: six 1-hour classes, three 2-hour classes, or one 6-hour class.
Ages: Programs are designed for ages 4-14. A pre-reader curriculum is available.
Class Size: We require a minimum of 8 children per program.
